Atheists or religious: do you believe in the phrase together we stand divided we fall?

Divide and conquer is one of the oldest war tactics in the book and it is something that seems to be going on in the world today. Everybody is either divided into race, or religion, or political status, or gender etc and from a power perspective it really makes the people of the world completely weak, defenseless and easily controlled. Do you think it's possible for humanity to actually come together and be a forced to be reckoned with or will this world always be a controlled society? Will religions ever come together? Will races accept each others as equals? Will women and men be treated as equals? It just seems like the corporate world is taking over and I don't know if there's much "the people" can do about it when everybody is separated.
