He's leavin the country;How do I know if Im ready to break up?

I met him abt a yr ago.He's a good person.He's leavin US in a few days and goin Canada after a month.I wanted him to visit me b4 he leaves b/c we havent seen each other for months, but he refused. This is not the 1st time he says no to my request. Now Im really frustrated. I tried to talk abt this several times, but always ended in fightin. I understand his job & everythin doesnt give him much break, but still i believe if he wanted to he wud have made it. He says we shud keep in contact even after he's gone. But Im not sure. I wanna let go of it, but after so long, I just feel he's part of daily routine.I still like him even though we havnt seen each other for long. But I cant get optimistic abt the future. I dont know if I shud just give it up or give it a shot. He says stuff that hurts me like we dont know each other. He doesnt tell his friends abt me either. Wenever I talk abt these he always came up with reasons, & I cant say they're invalid. Im really confused & plz plz help
