Appeal to faith is a logical fallacy. Why do so many believers use faith as an argument?

The same reason that so many non-believers use logical fallacies. It is easier to pull out a fallacy than it is to actually study philosophy, theology, logic and apologetics. Heck, even Richard Dawkins couldn't make it more than 5 pages without employing a couple of logical fallacies to bolster his case.
