What should I do about me new kitten :(?

2 days ago I was given a 3 month old kitten and all he wants to do is hiss, meow, and claw me.....he wont play, be touched, or want to come near me!I was going to wait a few more days to see if he warms up before I decide that mabey he is not the kitten fit for me, but today I went into the room that he seems to have made his hidin and I noticed that he through up his food a few times. He is acting very differently he wont let me touch him but he will let me sit by him if I stay at a foot and a half away..he is also kneeding the carpet and rolling and and purring like a kitten would do if he wanted to be pet. So I guess my question is 1. is their any way to get a skitish kitten become a playfull cuddely kitten? 2. Since he threw up his food and kneeding the carpet so much is there anyway he was still getting milk from his mother even though he is 12 weeks? And what should I feed him?
